Sadhana Siddha Das presents a copy of his book, Evolution of Consciousness, to the Vice Chancellor of the यूनिवर्सिटी University.

Sadhana Siddha Das’s journey in Krishna Consciousness is a story of dedication and growth that spans continents, temples, and personal study. His early years in Bangladesh, his work as a preacher, and as a Sanskrit student all led to his first book, Evolution of Consciousness, which he created to help clear up common misconceptions about the nature of consciousness.

Discovering Krishna Consciousness

Born in Bangladesh and raised near an ISKCON temple, Sadhana Siddhas’ life was closely tied to the experience of devotional life. His early life was marked by regular visits to the temple, which shaped his spiritual path. He recalled, “I took one Hare Krishna periodical from a devotee, started reading that newspaper, and gradually I became a devotee.” These early experiences set the stage for his lifelong commitment to Krishna Consciousness.

Service, Study, and Preaching

Soon after his newfound commitment to the practice, Sadhana Siddha began serving at various temples. At the Ujjain temple, where he joined as a Brahmachari around 2006, he took on roles such as distributing books, performing puja, and helping with daily temple activities. He noted, “I never wanted to be static. Wherever there was an opportunity to serve, I took it wholeheartedly.”

His dedication also led him to study Sanskrit under Gopi Pranadhan Das at the BBT Sanskrit College. Initially, his guru was hesitant, concerned that learning Sanskrit might distract him from his devotional path. However, he insisted on learning the language, and this decision opened up more profound insights into the scriptures.

Sadhana Siddha then moved into traveling preaching. He spent time in South Africa after plans to travel to the USA didn’t pan out. At the New Jagannath Puri Durban – Phoenix Temple in South Africa, he delivered Bhagavad-gita seminars that became very popular with the locals – sharing timeless knowledge with diverse groups of 80–90 individuals on select evenings. He observed, “When speaking to an academic, they seek logical congruity. An artist seeks inspiration. A seeker needs a path.” His approach adjusts to meet the needs of different audiences.

Sadhana Siddha shares his book with Colonel Pankaj Pandey.

Magnifying the Science of Spirituality

A major focus for Sadhana Siddha is reconciling modern scientific ideas with ancient Vedic wisdom. He explained that while many scientists tend to discuss only objective consciousness—often in terms of chemical processes—they miss the important questions like “Who is conscious? and “From where is this consciousness being projected?” He clarified, “They are generally missing the main point about subjective consciousness. It is not just about what happens in the body, but about ‘who’ is conscious of what is happening to the body from within.”

This viewpoint forms the foundation of the Evolution of Consciousness. The book is designed as a practical guide, drawing on scriptural references, Srila Prabhupada’s extensive works, and personal observation to show how consciousness develops when it is properly aligned with scientific spiritual principles. “The book is not just a theoretical exploration; it is meant to be a practical guide for understanding how consciousness evolves and how we could align our lives with that process to uncover it,” he explained.

Challenges, Future Plans, and Book Availability

Sadhana Siddha faces challenges in explaining these deep subjects to modern audiences. When discussing questions from medical students—such as how the soul exists when a heart is transplanted—he encounters skepticism. “Doubt, opposition, and even internal struggles were all part of the journey,” he admitted, viewing each challenge as a chance to strengthen his faith.

Looking ahead, he remains committed to writing and teaching. “As long as I am alive, I will try my best to write books. Srila Prabhupada said that devotees should try to write at least two pages a day.” He plans to compile more insights from scripture and personal reflection. He also intends to continue engaging with diverse audiences through lectures in colleges, schools, and universities.
