Mayapur Institute: “Are You Growing In Your Spiritual Life?”
By Anantashesh Das   |  May 27, 2018

It is an arduous journey for a seed to grow into a plant and ultimately into a fruit yielding tree. Left alone in the wild, a seed may not grow as it falls on a rocky ground instead of soil. There may be too little water or too much, not enough sun light, temperature may be extremely hot or cold for it to sprout and grow into a plant. A nursery is essential to provide a controlled environment creating favorable conditions for seeds to grow roots and become plants. Further, it provides care and instructions to grow to a fruit yielding tree when it is taken back to its destination.

Unless we grow spiritually, we will not find satisfaction in our pursuits. We will not be prepared to face and deal calmly with the uncertainties that the world offers us. Do you find yourself stagnated due to myriad distractions in this world? Are you neglecting your spiritual growth and being dormant like a seed in an unfavorable environment?

Mayapur institute (MI) provides an environment favorable to aid spiritual growth. It would pave the path for devotees’ spiritual growth by in-depth analytical study of ancient scriptures facilitated by sincere practitioners.

Students that enroll at MI, go through a rapid spiritual growth. As part of this process the students live in the holy dham which is imbued with the kripa shakti of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and they attend the morning program, read scriptures, participate in cheerful festivals and take the most purifying Ganga bath, associate with senior Vaishnavas from worldwide.  More importantly, they read the scriptures extensively as part of their assignments to take in as much scriptural knowledge as possible and are unknowingly growing internally. The students are greatly inspired to read, think and make presentations which help them come out of their comfort zone.

Students and faculty at MI create a supportive, close-knit scholarly community energized by group discussions, role plays, debates, dramas, parikramas to different holy places and various other exercises by which the subject matter is churned thoroughly and the students develop a solid understanding of scriptures. It makes learning, a fun activity. Take a step to grow here just like a seed taken care of to grow at a nursery until it develops strong roots to become a plant.

Upon successfully completing the sastric programs, the students are ready to migrate back to their locations as “matured devotees” with a different vision of the world and an ability to deal with the uncertainties of life based on the sacred texts.
